In July 2018, the West Virginia University of Medicine (WVUM) J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital had entered a race to become the first U.S. institution to successfully treat Alzaheimer patients non-invasively. In order to do so required the installation and renovation of an MRI-Guided High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. Volpatt Construction condensed the four month schedule into seven weeks, completing the custom shielding of the MRI in under 60 days.
