Volpatt Construction Wins 2021 MBA Building Excellence Award For Renovation Construction Under $10 Million
Awarded for the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Mt. Washington designed by Elagin Architecture
Pittsburgh, PA – March 3, 2022 – Volpatt Construction, a General Contractor and Construction Management firm serving the Western PA tri-state area, today announced that the company has been awarded a 2021 MBA Building Excellence Award for Renovation Construction Under $10MM. The team at Volpatt worked with CLP, Imperial Construction Services and Elagin Architecture to breathe new life into the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh’s Mt. Washington Branch.
The beautiful renovation and addition to the library has revitalized this 122-year-old asset for the residents of Mt. Washington and the City of Pittsburgh. The two-story addition was carefully constructed to complement the historic character of the original building while providing views and access to an outdoor reading courtyard.
“We worked closely with the residents to logistically plan and coordinate renovating the steep and narrow site,” said Ray Volpatt, President of Volpatt Construction. “We also made sure to preserve elements of the building including the original millwork and finishes that add to its historic charm.”
